Canine Myo-manipulative functional Therapy (CMFT) is a holistic and comprehensive approach to canine health that utilizes the gentle application of soft tissue massage and stretching techniques. This therapy is designed to enhance muscle function, alleviate restricted joint movement, and address common musculoskeletal issues, as well as a variety of health conditions that can affect dogs.
Massage Therapy, being one of the most ancient forms of natural treatment, taps into the innate healing power of touch. Skilled hands can detect and assess subtle anomalies, pain points, tension, adhesions, and other issues that may not be evident through imaging techniques like X-rays. Regular massage therapy aids in the recovery process from diseases, injuries, and surgeries by lowering stress levels and encouraging tissue regeneration.
Our therapeutic dog massage services are designed to ease discomfort, improve movement, and support your pet’s health. Every session is customized to meet your dog’s unique needs.
A soft tissue massage on a dog involves applying gentle, controlled pressure to the muscles, tendons, and ligaments. This therapeutic technique helps relieve tension, improve circulation, and promote muscle recovery, contributing to the dog's overall health. It is especially beneficial for dogs recovering from injury, experiencing stress, or dealing with chronic conditions. Regular soft tissue massage allows dogs to feel more relaxed, at ease, and comfortable, improving their mobility and quality of life while reducing pain and discomfort.
Craniosacral massage for dogs involves gentle manipulation of the head and spine to release tension and promote relaxation. This specialized technique aims to improve the dog's overall well- being by enhancing the central nervous system function and relieving stress. By focusing on the craniosacral system, which includes the brain, spinal cord, and cerebrospinal fluid, this massage can help alleviate pain, reduce anxiety, and enhance the dog's comfort and mobility. It is particularly beneficial for dogs dealing with injury, chronic conditions, or in need of relaxation and stress relief.
Cold laser therapy, also known as low- level laser therapy (LLLT), is a non- invasive treatment that uses low-level light to stimulate healing and relieve pain. When a dog receives cold laser treatment, the benefits include reduced inflammation, accelerated tissue repair, and relief from pain and discomfort. This therapy can be particularly beneficial for dogs recovering from surgery, dealing with chronic conditions, or needing relief from musculoskeletal ailments. It helps to enhance the dog's comfort, mobility, and overall well-being without causing any discomfort during the procedure.
Aromatherapy is a holistic healing treatment that uses essential oils to promote physical, emotional, and mental well-being in dogs. By inhaling specific scents, dogs can experience reduced stress, anxiety, and pain while improving their overall relaxation and comfort. Aromatherapy can be administered through diffusers, massage oils, or diluted in water for dogs to inhale or absorb through the skin. This gentle and non-invasive approach is especially beneficial for dogs dealing with anxiety, hyperactivity, or discomfort, offering a natural way to improve their quality of life.
I’ve always been committed to fitness, maintaining a healthy lifestyle and a balanced diet. Whenever I felt sore after training or running, I would visit a physiotherapist or get a massage to help my body recover. Over time, I realized that canines, like humans, need rest and recovery after physical activities such as running, playing, or fetching, which can cause muscle tension and strain.
Growing up surrounded by dogs, I wasn’t aware of the benefits of canine massage until my Staffordshire Terrier injured her knee. She partially tore a ligament, and while I wasn’t ready for her to undergo knee surgery, I discovered that massage therapy could help with her body alignment, balance, and overall movement without pain. This opened my eyes to the therapeutic benefits of massage for dogs.
This experience led me to Dr. Angelique’s holistic animal studies, https://www.holisticanimalstudies.net/courses and I immediately fell in love with the holistic approach to animal care. My passion for animals was reignited, and I realized I could apply the healing techniques I used on myself to help dogs move more freely and live pain-free lives.
